The 2008 Coaching Staff
The Hammerhead coach for 2008 will be former Hollymead swimmer John Nelson.  John is currently an assistant coach with the Virginia Gators.  He brings a wealth of expertise in stroke technique and a strong passion for working with young people.  The Hammerheads are also exicited to welcome back assistant coaches Stephen Gomez, Julie Gaines, and Jessica Oliva who have been so dedicated to our program over the last few years.

The Swim Program
Welcome to the Hollymead Hammerheads Swim Program. We are a family centered team with sense of community that comes from working and playing together. Our swimmers strive to achieve their personal best, and we support each other. We are very excited about the upcoming season! Our goal is to provide a fun, safe, and positive environment for children to learn and enjoy the sport of competitive swimming.

Spring Warm-Ups - Get Back in the Water

wmupThis year we are offering a Spring Warm-Up session for swimmers who want to get in the water early and hone those strokes. This is a great way to ease back into the season and work on getting into shape!

Spring Warm-Up
sessions will begin on Sunday, April 6 at Fairview. Warm-up dates are as follows:
 4/6, 4/13,4/20, 4/27,5/4, and 5/18.

Swimmers ages 5-10 will swim from 2-3pm at Fairview, and Swimmers ages 11 and over from 3-4 pm at Fairview.

The cost for Spring Warm-Ups is $55 & will be led by Coach John. Click Here for the registration form.

Parents We Need You - Get Involved

One parent from each family must attend registration to review our team Code of Conduct and Expectations and complete the registration form and payment process.  Additionally, we will be asking each parent to make a commitment regarding volunteer positions for this summer.  We are fortunate to have many committed and hard working parents return each year, but many families have “moved on” which means new people need to step forward and fill these positions. For most positions the commitment is limited to only a few meets and if everyone takes a small role in the organization, we will have a successful swim team and an effective community effort.
