Team Membership-

Team Membership is open to any child beginning with children in the six and under age group, all the way up to age 18, provided he/she can complete the length of the pool. Swim team members do not need to live in Hollymead or have a pool membership.
The cost is $95 per child for returning members (before May 1), families with three or more children swimming will be charged $45 for the third (fourth, etc.) child.  Fees increase to $105/$55 after May 1st (at this point we will be accepting NEW TEAM MEMBERSHIPS) and once practice starts it goes up to $110/$55.  Parents are required to complete a Jefferson Swim League Registration form. We are one of 15 teams participating in the Jefferson Swim League.

Swim Team Participation

The "mechanics" of participating on a swim team can be quite overwhelming to parents and children alike, especially for those first-timers! We have created this handbook for all of you. Please keep it for the length of the season as it provides schedules, directions, and guidelines that you may need to refer to throughout the summer. We will also maintain a bulletin board at the pool, which will provide updated information about the goings on of the team.
Hammerhead Swim Team Rules
  • All posted pool rules apply before, during, and after practices.
  • Children who are not participating on the swim team are not permitted to be in the pool during practices or meets. (This applies to the baby pool as well.)
  • All kids must leave the pool premises at 10:45 after practice, and the pool deck must be cleared.
  • All swimmers are expected to attend practice every day and to notify coaches of excused absences in advance.
  • Coaches have the authority to make and enforce team rules regarding conduct. Parents will be notified about behavior problems.
  • Coaches will use their discretion based on attendance, performance, and behavior when planning meets.
  • Parents or other assigned adults must monitor children's behavior at meets.
  • Children are not to be left unsupervised at meets.
  • Children may not leave meets without informing coaches if they are signed up to swim in later events.
  • Swimmers not adhering to these or other pool rules may be disciplined by time-outs or dismissal from practice
  • Swimmers are strongly encouraged to stay out of the sun and not physically exert themselves on meet days.
  • Parents will be notified if there is a discipline problem with their child, and a "three strikes" policy will be enforced.
